About Made for the Mountain

We're parents who traded screen time for trail time — and we've never looked back.

It Started with a Meltdown Over a Screen

Like most parents, we struggled. Our kids were glued to tablets, phones, and gaming consoles. We felt guilty, they felt irritable, and family time felt like a negotiation.

One weekend, out of desperation more than inspiration, we packed up the car and drove to the nearest trail. We didn't have the right gear. We didn't know what we were doing. But something happened on that trail that we hadn't seen in months — our kids were present.

They were curious, engaged, and genuinely happy. No screens. No arguments. Just the trail, the trees, and our family.

That's when Made for the Mountain was born — out of a desire to help other parents find what we found: that the outdoors is the best screen replacement there is.
